Munatix drop new single “Get It Out”
Following the release of their debut 12 track CD album “Retrofied” which came out in April 2024, and their recent brilliant cover of Bronski Beat’s classic Smalltown Boy which has already racked up almost 40,000 views on Youtube, the Belgian synthpop band Munatix are back with a vengeance, with electrifying single Get It Out from their debut album.
This infectious track is a love letter to the 80's, brimming with classic synthpop sounds and a pulsating energy that's guaranteed to get your feet moving, led by a hypnotic synth bass line and pounding, heavy synth drums track.
Recorded in their home studio, Get It Out just oozes with the warmth of vintage analogue gear, infusing the song with a timeless quality.
The lyrics paint a vivid picture of yearning for escape from a suffocating world, just as relevant in today’s world ! With lyrics sung by frontman Ricky like "Changes in my life / I've got changes in my life / Need space in my room / I really need space in my room," which echo a universal desire for a fresh start continuing with “The strain is crushing me, its really crushing me….. I’m really going through this phase, man this can’t go on….. reach and touch the sky, got teardrops in my eyes”.
The track builds to a powerful climax, the rhythm becomes more upbeat echoing the lyrics, urging the listener to break free from the constraints and anxieties of modern life: "Need to, I really need to, need to, I need to get it out."

The music video was filmed at the magnificent Liège Guillemins train station designed by Santiago Calatrava in 2013, a beautiful modern light design using colour to create stunning light patches created in reflections and pools of light, perfectly complementing the song's themes. As a synth geek, the Korg Poly 800 with black keys is a highlight !
The pair are seen performing on the platforms, traversing the station's iconic rolling stairs, and amidst the bustling energy of arriving and departing trains.
Get It Out is a great track, and an 80’s synth-pop call to action, an anthem for those who crave a fresh start.
