StereoTyped release forceful new track "Adultery"
If you like bands like Nirvana, The Reytons and Pretty Vicious, then this might just be for you. Hailing from Manchester, the punk-infused quartet boast heavy rock ‘n’ roll intertwined with edistorted guitars and teen angst in an Oasis-meets-Nirvana soundscape. Their growing up in the city has shaped and influenced the music they produce – the rich tapestry of Manchester finds itself weaved throughout their music, and sound – including taking influence from the bands whom birthed here.

Having dominated the live music scene across the North, from battle of the band wins in Preston, self-funded gigs at AATMA and a number of support slots in Manchester, StereoTyped are cementing themselves as one of the best up-and-coming bands on the rock scene. Influenced by the likes of My Chemical Romance, Sonic Youth and The Cult, the band release their debut LP ‘Delusions of the Strange’ back in 2021 – a record drenched in driving vocals, infectious instrumentation and overt punk energy that teeters on Reytons territory.
To add to their already impressive discography, StereoTyped have announced the release of their upcoming single ‘Adultery’, plucked from a brand new project on the horizon. Recorded at Milkshed Studios with the aid of producer Chris Hope (who has worked with the likes of Foals, The Coral and The Hives), the track breaks the band’s year-long release hiatus in the most daring fashion.
Adultery as the name suggests, explores the narrative of a husband who falls for his sister-in-law, whom, upon realising they can no longer sneak around, plan to kill the wife so they can be together. Set from a handful of points of view, the track follows the inner monologue of the wife, sister, and the son of the married couple as they navigate their personal experiences with the play at hand.
Opening with blinding guitars before making way for insistent, driving percussive instruments, the track very quickly makes a head-first dive into a high-octane soundscape. Featuring gritty vocals akin to Liam Gallagher, and instrumentation that find themselves veined throughout Nirvana’s back-catalogue, the song sits as a truly infectious, captivating cut.

Taken from the upcoming record, Adultery sits as one of a trifecta of singles that when pieced together tell the story of two people attempting to navigate their relationship as it slowly begins to wither away and fall apart. The album, as a whole speaks on the over-arching themes of infidelity, dysfunctional relationships and the fallout that accompanies them.
Speaking on the new cut, bassist Oliver notes: “Adultery is one of three singles from our new album. It’s a really gritty song that we think will make people grind their teeth.”
