Updated CombiChrist tour dates announced
Late 2020 we brought you the news that Powermetal / Techno legends CombiChrist were returning to the UK as part of a 35 date european tour. Of course, as with almost everything else Covid took it’s toll and the tour had to be postponed. The great news is, CombiChrist are back and will be heading to Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms on 15 August 2022…. and we couldn’t be more excited !
Founded by Norwegian Andy LaPlegua, (who also formed Icon of Coil) the band consists of only Andy in the studio, but with a changing lineup of musicians for the live shows. In 2019 Combichrist released their ninth studio album “One Fire” drawing on ideas from across the breadth of the group's career. A number of singles have since been released, the most recent, earlier in 2022 being the excellent Modern Demon.
CombiChrist have a sound all of their own, bringing together Powermetal, Industrial, Techno influences into a monstrous mechanical power sound.
Ever since their debut album in 2003 “The Joy of Gunz” LaPlegua and Combichrist have toured the world extensively and have supported the likes of Rammstein (2009) on their European tour and also at their sold out Madison Square Garden (2010).
The new rescheduled 2022 tour still takes in 35 shows in 11 countries with UK dates in Bristol (The Fleece) London (Islington Assembly Hall), Norwich (Waterfront), Glasgow (Cathouse), Newcastle (Think Tank), Birmingham (O2 Institute 2) and Nottingham (Rescue Rooms).
Fans will love it, but if you’re looking to try something new, we can’t recommend a CombiChrist show enough, with thunderous beats, great visuals, huge energy levels and lots of audience interaction. This is a show not to be missed, and a highlight of 2022 in our books.
