Re-Released today - Gary Numan's classic 1984 album "Berserker"

Gary Numan hit the music scene in 1978 and took it by storm delivering a series of chart topping albums with “Replicas”, “The Pleasure Principle” and “Telekon” all released through Beggars Banquet.

Then, in 1984 Gary took he bold step of launching his own label - Numa Records, on which he released four studio albums: 1984’s “Berserker”, “The Fury” in 1985, “Strange Charm” in 1986 and “Machine & Soul” released in 1992. He also released three live albums “White Noise” in 1985, “Ghost” in 1987 and finally “Dream Corrosion” in 1993.

All the Numa Years albums are now available to stream on your preferred platform via the links on Gary’s website HERE.

And… the albums are set for a long awaited physical re-issue, starting with the iconic 1984 release “Berserker’ which comes out today. “Berserker” built on the electro-funk styling of the previous album “I, Assassin” but built on this with a dystopian industrial style. The production also took a different direction influenced by the work of Trevor Horne who was working with Frankie gGoes to Hollywood at the time. The dystopian sense of the album was brought to life with the ‘otherworldly’ white and blue makeup. Each year, every new album was linked to a new and distinct look to bring the recordings to life. Gary once said himself that you ‘don’t listen to a television, you watch it’.

It will be released on double-vinyl, which replicates the tracklisting of the digital format, and a four-CD set which also adds the “White Noise” live album. There are also long-term plans for similar reissues of the remaining three ‘The Numa Years’ studio albums too.
