The Meteors head to Derby in 2024 !
A band that needs no introduction - The Meteors were originally formed in London back in 1980 by P. Paul Fenech (guitar and vocals), Nigel Lewis (upright bass/electric bass and vocals), and Mark Robertson (drums). Best known for their outstanding albums “In Heaven” (1981) and the iconic “Wreckin’ Crew” (1983), they have recorded 23 albums and numberous live and compilation albums too. P. Paul Fenech may be the only original member remaining, but they continue to tour and entertain crowds all over the world.
Credited by many of giving the Rockabilly sub-genre Psychobilly it’s signature sound, The Meteors have been an influence on many bands and artists.
The band have recently announced they will be playing a show at Derby’s Hairy Dog on Saturday 30 March 2024 and will be joined by special guests Johnny Wildheart & the Bluelights and The Two Step Goodbyes. This is a show not to miss!
We first saw The Two Step Goodbyes, when they supported Demented Are Go in Stoke a few years ago, and they were incredible. With Johnny Wildheart too, this is one stunning line up.
Tickets are available for the show from Gigantic HERE.
The show in Derby is part of a short run for 2024. The band will also be playing the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on Monday 1 April 2024 (with support from the Epileptic Hillbillys & Nervous Twitch), the Waterfront Studios in Norwich on Tuesday 2 April 2024 (with support from Epileptic Hillbillys & Stage Frite) and their only London date of 2024 at Venue 229 on Saturday 20 April 2024 with support from Red Hot Riot.
