Sons of Liberty announce new vocalist
Sons of Liberty, the UK’s very own hard southern-rockers and one of the hardest working touring bands on the scene, are pleased to announce their permanent new frontman in the esteemed and talented Russ Grimmett.
A powerhouse melodic rock vocalist, Russ boasts a career spanning 20 years in the music industry, bringing a wealth of experience to the party. Having played worldwide in front of thousands, his stage presence and energy have been the hallmark of his live performances. Russ has the vocal ability to bring dynamics to the band and a range that many dream of holding.
On joining ‘The Sons’ Russ eagerly states, “I am absolutely STOKED to have been asked to sing for Son of Liberty! I’d heard of (and met) the guys before being asked recently, and it was too good of an opportunity to turn down. Listening to the new stuff and the direction they are heading in, it was almost too perfect, it’s like they wrote the songs for me!” Clearly enthused at what the future holds, “So yeah, couldn’t be more buzzed to be joining such an awesome bunch of blokes to see what can happen next. I’ve had some big boots to fill, but rest assured, I’m going to do my best to take Sons of Liberty to another level. See you at the front!”
Lead guitarist Fred Hale mirrors the belief, “We are so excited to welcome Russ to The Sons, his vocals on the new tracks we’re working on have just blown us away. We can’t wait to hit the road and perform with him and to get back into the studio to capture some of that vocal mojo that he clearly has in spades.”
After heading back to Momentum Studios with producer Josiah J Manning (Kris Barras Band, Inglorious) to finish recording their much anticipated follow-up to 2021’s highly acclaimed “Aces & Eights”, the band continue their relentless run of shows and festivals throughout 2023. Highlights include a run as special guests to the legendary Molly Hatchet, a main stage appearance at the inaugural Maid of Stone Festival Kent, Firevolt Manchester and ventures to France for the superbly attended Show Bike Aquitaine and what will no doubt be a hero’s return to Bully On Rocks for its 10th anniversary.
Always ready to saddle up and give their ever-accelerating and passionate fan base they call “All of our friends new and old” their best show each time out, there is no slowing down for Sons of Liberty - in their words, “HELL YEAH!”
We had the absolute pleasure of seeing Sons of Liberty live onboard Thekla in Bristol recently, on their co-headline tour with American southern rockers Preacher Stone.
