Out now: Love is a Flower from Paul Nixon
Love is a Flower is the latest single from Warrington based solo artist Paul Nixon. Released on 2 October 2020 it’s available now on all online stores and streaming platforms.
Written and performed by Paul (except cello & drums) the song was written before things went mad this year but ironically, lyrically it's even more relevant now than ever before.
Paul has another single due out Coming To Get You which is due for release on the 27th November 2020.
Love is a Flower is the latest single from single songwriter Paul Nixon, and follows three excellent tracks released in 2019 A Matter of Time, Behind Your Eyes and No Hero.
The addition of the cello is a fantastic touch and I loved it’s slow introduction, before the acoustic guitar and drums kick in. But the cello continues prominently throughout the track giving a strong string bassline throughout. The instrumentation is exquisite throughout and the balance between cello, guitars and drums is spot on. The vocals fit perfectly too, with Paul’s slightly husky tones complimenting the tones well.
The lyrics, despite being written before the pandemic suit its release now, describing a sense of trying to cope with a crazy out of control world with lines like “I was tired from the weight of the world, but I try to be strong as it turns.” But it has a sense of hope running throughout “So take my hand and sing this song my friend, …….. cause when you open your eyes…. You know you might be surprised….. cause music is power, love is a flower. People come on we got to get along now. Music is power, love is a flower people you know we got to let it go”.
The sense of madness all around, but the individual power to rise above it all and find beauty and love in the world is uplifting “Be as one and I know we’ll survive. There’s war in every corner of this place, let the beauty of this world put a smile on your face……”.
Another great track and highly recommended. I really enjoyed this one.
A fantastic 9.0 from LiveWire Music
