Jaakko Eino Kalevi releases Kiva Kiva remix of "Galactic Romance"
Today, Jaakko Eino Kalevi releases the dancefloor-ready Kiva Kiva remix of “Galactic Romance”. The original track featured on Jaakko’s acclaimed 2023 album Chaos Magic and was sung in Chinese by Yu-Ching Huang. "Galactic Romance (Kiva Kiva Versio)" is the latest in a run of exceptional remixes by Fred Falke and Richard X of tracks from Chaos Magic. You can stream the new track HERE.
Back in 2014, Vezurro remixed Jaakko's "No End" for the Dreamzone Remixes EP (Weird World). Now the cult Finnish synthpop producer is back as Kiva Kiva with a brilliant high-energy, Bobby O-style take on “Galactic Romance”. He says: "Kiva Kiva combines Finnish melancholy with mid-80s Italo optimism into a unique Fenno-disco interpretation of Galactic Romance."
Jaakko also comments: "Once again Kiva Kiva – aka Vezurro aka Kasko – delivers an amazing version of Galactic Romance that makes you feel nostalgia for the future. And this time it's in Finnish!"
Alongside the remix, Jaakko has also released a video for the original version of “Galactic Romance”. Directed by the award-winning animator and regular Jaakko collaborator Christine Gensheimer, it’s bewitching and otherworldly, depicting a chaotic journey through another dimension.

Largely written and recorded in his new home of Athens, Chaos Magic also features pre-released singles “Drifting Away”, “Hell & Heaven” and “I Forget”. Plotting a thrilling course through the Jaakko universe, drawing on cosmic jazz, dub reggae, neon synthpop, tender ballads and space-rock nirvana, it features musical contributions from Jimi Tenor, Alma Jodorowsky, Yu-Ching Huang and John Moods.
An album very much founded in the beauty of collaboration and, in Jaakko’s words, “a ‘back to the roots’ album”, Chaos Magic “is a collection of songs from a certain period without trying to tie them together”. Inspired by his new home and the Greek word kháos, “meaning an abyss or void that was created when Earth and Heaven were separated”, the eclectic, wondrous sounds of the album find beauty in the chaotic nature of the everyday.
